Siem Reap, Cambodia
“In the quiet corners of Siem Reap, I met Som Nang—a young waitress working in a small local bar. Her name translates to ‘Luck,’ and true to its meaning, she brought a sense of serendipity into my life through her story. At 19, Som Nang navigates her world as a tomboy, embracing her identity while sharing the rhythms of her daily life with Ata, also 19.
This series is an intimate glimpse into their shared existence—a narrative of youth, identity, and companionship. Beyond the temples and the bustling tourist trails of Cambodia, ‘Lucky’ captures the raw, tender reality of two young lives intertwined, finding home and belonging in one another.”
